Why should I choose a childminder?
Childminders can :
- provide consistent one to one care, tailored to the individual needs of a child
- form a stable, trusting relationship with the child
- provide care for siblings together
- be very flexible over the hours of care provided
- provide care in a home that can include involvement in activities such as cooking, shopping, gardening, and family mealtimes
What are your opening hours?
I am open from 7am to 5.30pm. Hours may be available outside of these on request.
What are your fees?
Full day £35
Breakfast and soft drink and drop off at school from 7am £8
After school club
Afternoon snacks and pick up from schoo until 5.30pml £8
What isn’t included?
Nappies, wipes, nappy cream, formula milk, nappy barrier creams, pain relief such as calpol. I ask you to supply these for me if needed.
Do you have any vacancies?
Please provide me with details of when you need care for your child, and their age, and I will try and accommodate your needs however I am legally bound by Ofsted to look after a number of children within the Early Years age group at any one time and a session may not be available straight away.
What schools do you pick up and drop off at?
Please contact me with details of nurseries/schools that you require along with times so I can see if I can accommodate these. Currently picking up and collecting from Regis Manor Primary School.
Do you attend any groups?
I attend various play groups where children can meet and interact with each other such as messy play, rockabye music, sporty tots, local childminding group, aswell as visits to the library and local parks. Our favourite is Gore Farm at Upchurch where we meet ducklings, donkeys, pigs, Llamas, chickens and lots more!
What training/qualifications do you have relevant to childcare?
I hold an up to date Paediatric First Aid Course, completed the NCMA childcare pre-registration course, and have completed a Safeguarding Children course. I have just completed my Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Persons Workforce. I ensure that I attend training sessions throughout the year and keep myself up to date with changes to EYFS and childcare news.
Will you need a deposit?
Yes, this will be used to secure your place which is redeemable against your childcare fees.
How do we settle my child(ren) in?
I will ask you to come along to two 2 hour long sessions with your child so they can get used to my home environment, to me, and any other children I have here. This will be free of charge.
Can I get help with childcare costs?
Check the Inland Revenue website at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/childcare/taxcredits.htmweeblylink_new_window or call 0845 3003900. You may be able to claim the childcare element of working tax credit to help with costs.
Do you accept childcare vouchers?
Yes, let me know which childcare voucher scheme you are signed up to so I can confirm I can take those vouchers.
Can I use the 15hours free from the government?
Yes, I am part of the NCMA children come first network and can offer funded sessions for children aged 3 and 4. I can also offer the free for 2 scheme for eligible children.
